This panel has been designed in an abstract design. I have used a lot of different textured glass, water glass and rough rolled glass to name a couple, these give the impression of movement in the piece. 

Each piece of glass has been hand cut. All the pieces that need painting are painted using a specialised glass paint which is then fired in the kiln at 650 degrees. 

All the pieces of glass are then leaded together. Tallow is applied to the solder joints which acts as a flux to allow the solder to adhere to the lead. 
The next process is glazing or cementing. The cement is brushed under the lead to hold the glass in place. When the panel starts to dry now is the time to clean it up! 

After it has been cleaned and all the cement is off both the lead and the glass a small amount of grate polish is applied to the lead to blacken it down. 

Two loops are made and attached to the top of the panel ready for the hanging wire to be attached to.
