Ruth made two panels for us on commission. One is a daytime landscape scene incorporating several elements from our surroundings, and the other is a magical moonlit scene with a fox, also incorporating local elements. They have really completed our home, and we marvel at all the intricate details and sympathetic colour choices.

We originally gave Ruth a verbal mood board of what we wanted in each panel, and she delivered perfectly to the brief, but actually the pieces she created were far more special than we expected. This lady is so talented that, when we first saw her work, frankly we did not expect that we’d be able to afford her services, however the prices she quoted us were very reasonable. The process of making pieces like these is so involved and time-intensive, it is clearly a labour of love for Ruth.

Before starting work, she even came to visit our village and did her own research, incorporating additional features into one of the panels to pay homage to a renowned historical local stained glass-maker. She sent progress updates to us regularly and sought our input at various points regarding design and colour choices. The panels are so exquisite that it’s hard to do justice to them in words. In the day time, they catch the sunlight outside and you see every beautiful detail from inside the house.

As it gets dark, the artificial light radiates out from within the house and they glow magically for those outside.

What a wonderful day we spent with Ruth. We were warmly welcomed into her home and beautiful studio at the start of the day feeling inspired by the stunning stained glass pieces displayed and excited to start our own projects. As novices to stained glass Ruth demonstrated the basics of glass cutting and let us practice before we chose our designs. We each chose a different design and with Ruth’s advice, guidance and wonderful patients we each created a stained glass piece we are all so proud of. We have caught the bug and will be looking to do some more stained glass work thanks to Ruth.

Ruth is an incredibly talented artist. She very carefully and thoughtfully designed and created a bespoke stained glass panel for an internal door for us depicting the view of the coastline in Herm, Channel Isles which is a very meaningful location for our family. The particular challenge for this piece was that the door is on to our cloakroom so we needed opaque glass for privacy. This presented Ruth with additional material sourcing challenges but her approach to the design and managing the project by sending us updated progress photos really made the whole process very exciting and I couldn’t be happier with the final piece. I now smile every time I walk past it and I can’t imagine that feeling will be fading any time soon. If we are ever to move house the door is now coming with me!! We were delighted with our day with Ruth. She welcomed us with warmth and shared her knowledge, skills and beautiful resources with us. As I had no prior experience of stained glass work, I was very impressed at how quickly I picked up the basics, with Ruth’s professional tuition. By the end of the day my wife and I had two beautiful stained glass panels to hang in our home and a great sense of achievement. I thoroughly recommend a day spent crafting stained glass with Ruth.

Fantastic day at the stained glass workshop. Ruth is a great teacher , very patient and informative. My husband and I are complete notices and surprised what we made in the day. Really enjoyed the day and love the pieces that we made.

I had the most amazing two days creating my glass window panel with Ruth. She is a wonderful teacher, and taught me all of the tips and tricks from designing my panel, cutting glass, lead work, to the final soldering and cementing. I am so pleased with how my panel turned out. I would highly recommend Ruth's workshop to anyone with an interest in stained glass.

What an amazing day! I came home on such a high! I had booked this as a treat for myself for my birthday. Ruth was amazing, her teaching flawless, she assessed my level and let me design my own piece and and helped where necessary whilst allowing me to find my own inner creative streak!
